Eye-tracking for effective analyzing nystagmus on-board
Microgravity-induced sickness and dizziness are hampers of both performance and well-being and must be addressed. Our study involves using the Tobii Pro / EyeSeeCam visors to detect nystagmus during regularly performed tilt tests, diagnosing the condition leading to dizziness, and analyzing cognitive and mental performance. The video head impulse test, also known as the head thrust test, is a powerful clinical tool to assess vestibular function. EyeSeeCam vHIT provides quick and objective measurements of the vestibular-ocular reflex. It efficiently assesses the dizzy patient and determines if the dizziness is related to a vestibular disorder. Utilizing Eyeviation advanced eye-tracking technology applications for aviation maximize efficient and effective performance crew on-board the International space station. This study has important implications for use in space and on-earth.
