A novel approach to create an autonomous “space-drone” is suggested to enable tracking Mr.Eytan Stibbe with a camera while he is working in the International Space Station (ISS) during the AX-1 mission. The device will be equipped with state-of-the-art Piezo-electric thrusters to control its movement in the pressurized micro-gravity environment of the ISS. It will track Mr. Stibbe’s face using a camera and artificial intelligence (AI) software which will be designed by the students at the Yeruham Science Center as an educational project. The thrusters will be controlled by a closed-loop control law which will depend on a suite of sensors and the camera to maintain a stable position relative to Mr. Stibbe.
